To Freedom to Choose

I live in Malaysia, far far away from the heated battle over abortion in America. Although abortion is common and hush-hush, it's not as widespread as in other places.

IMHO, the whole issue boils down to the question, "What is the unborn?"

If the unborn is a living human being, then no man or woman has the right to murder that human life without justification. If the unborn is just a tumor in the womb, then it has no right to life at all.

George Bush, for all his weaknesses, was right when he said, "Men and women have the right to choose... but choose what?"

Women have the right to choose education, careers, life partners, self-fulfillment etc etc, but like men, they don't have the choice to commit suicide, abuse infants and certainly, no right to murder.

The issue is not whether God will forgive abortionists who repent and believe his Son died for us, but is abortion morally wrong? If it's not wrong, they dun need forgiveness... but if abortion is wrong, they must turn away from sin.

We have freedom... but freedom is to do good, not to do evil.

Abortion is the women's right to choose as much as segregation is the white people's right to free association and slavery is the slavemasters' right to property ownership.

How would I feel if I had a child when I was thirteen?

Scared... Confused... Seeking help... Worried about the future...
But I'd have to think of how my unborn would feel when his/her brains are sucked out for no fault of his/her own, but because I screwed up?

If we say that abortion is not murder bcos "that child could have been born then suffered a horrible 5 years of life and then die" then that piece of logic can be used to justify all crimes against disabled children and infants... ie. Infanticide is not murder because if we don't kill the disabled infant, they may just live 5
horrible years and die anyway...

Well, that is a false dilemma, the baby could be given to adopted parents (many of whom are waiting to give them a better life than the 13 year old)

If you have a fren considering abortion, why not ask them to seek counseling at a pro-life center? Alternatives to give life, not taking life is available...
