My Church

How would I describe my church, City Discipleship Presbyterian Church?

It's evangelical, with a charismatic flavor. The preaching is expository.
The music is contemporary.

There are three pastors - Ps Wong Fong Yang, Ps Caleb Soon and Ps Aik Khiam who major in hermeneutics, preaching and counselling.

The church is comprised of mostly young families, working adults, students... but there is also a healthy section of zealous and joyful Uncles and Aunties.

We run the Alpha, Awana, Sunday School and Cell Group ministries - as well as some ventures into mission ie amongst the orang asli.

I think it's time for the John Knox descendants and Luther descendants to arise :-) I like what I see going on in CDPC (a mouthful that was!) may God bless the ministry there ... sometimes I wonder, whether we mainliners (who most of the time are sidelined in people's eyes, especially whe questions like "What is a Luthersn church? or methodist? or presbyterian?" arise) are actually alternative churches in Klang Valley? :-P just thinking out loud ..

A really short and concise description of our church! :D Yup, the preaching is exceptionally expository ('exceptionally' was intended to show "kao" or "kao kao") and would be great to vary a bit into practical preaching also, though I'd like to compliment on getting exposed to workplace dealings, relationships, obedience and faith. Music is contemporary but surely, not the most contemporary (from a serving one's opinion!), which I like those once-in-a-while flashes of hymns and a good mix of the golden oldies and the hip. :-)

Btw, Dave's the hero among the orang aslis! Hehehe! (kidding la)

Just one question: Do you speak in tongues? I mean, not other foreign languages, but heavenly languages - you know the charismatic type.

This question arises frm your background as a charismatic fanatic during your youth, and now your church is kinda charismatic too.

So, yes.. do you? ;op
