Have you tried to compare your photos before and after becoming a Christian?
I couldn't believe my eyes when Bill showed me his pre-Christian photo. Long, unkempt hair. Disinterested, sleepless eyes. Black metal T-shirt.
Now, the Bill sitting across the table was clean shaven, happy and ‘awakened’. It’s amazing. A photo can speak a million words.
His testimony is not of how Christ can change our fashion sense though.
Bill left Malaysia to study philosophy in US of A. He said it’s the most useless course one could take (commercially speaking). Dun ask me how his parents consented to it!
Here, he got the theory that under-girds his existing nihilistic outlook/lifestyle. He says there’s no way you can storm the impregnable fortress of Nietzsche’s “Beyond Good and Evil”.
How did the Holy Spirit change this rocker-rebel?
Some friends did a bible study with him on the ancient letter to the Romans. Boom! He didn’t get past chapter one before being convicted of God who is, and laid bare to his moral poverty. Broken, he surrendered his life to Christ.
It’s amazing how ‘simple’ 2000-year old Scripture still speaks with power and beauty to the disillusioned child of the 21st century, dissatisfied with ‘avant garde’ spirit of the age.
