Hero of today, Legend of tomorrow
Battling hordes of hellish foes
In scorching heat and winter snow
Till freedom gained for captive souls
Hero of today, Legend of tomorrow
The master’s footsteps closely follow
To a heart sealed, inflamed and hallow
The Siren’s song ring hopelessly hollow
Hero of today, Legend of tomorrow
Though hid in the Almighty’s shadow
Let the Word pierce both bone and marrow
For the day of unveiling He surely foreknow
Walk the road straight and narrow
Fret not the gall of lonely sorrow
Hero of today, Legend of tomorrow
Thy worth is more than many sparrows
The dead shall rise with the Angel’s bellow
Our Judge both wicked and righteous winnow
Hero of today, Legend of tomorrow
In glory, a crown of life would He bestow
Shih Chung "membalas pantun":
From a whisper in the tender womb
A baby bud, like a flower bloom
In leather gird, sandals and sword
A warrior, equipped by the Lord
For a mission far far greater
To rouse a church deep in slumber
To save men from burning ambers
And leave the footprints of warriors
No fame, no gain, no bed to borrow
A living shame and nightly sorrow
But what is life with a soul hollow?
What is life regretting tomorrow?
For when heavens die at earth's demise
When trumpets call and the dead do rise
Hero of today, legend of tomorrow
Before Jehovah, all just shadow
PS: Shih Chung and I wrote two separate parts of this poem dedicated to so-called "heroes of today, legends of tomorrow" ...
"What would people do when they hear that I'm a Jesus-freak? What would people do when they know that it's true? I don't really care when they label me a Jesus freak. There ain't no disguising the truth"
