Terri Schiavo's death brings to our consciousness the issue of 'mercy killing', for some reasons, my Mom was opposed towards the act to starve her to death as well as abortion. She's not a conservative evangelical, but came up with some ethical positions very much similar. Maybe it's because she has seen so many miracles of life in her career as a midwife that instinctively she esteems the sanctity of life?
This Saturday, we'd resume our class on 'historical Jesus' under Dr Ng Kam Weng (he didn't show his hands during earlier conversations, but now I know he has a "John Frame' presuppositional approach)... I'd recommend NT Wright's "Who Was Jesus?" as a starter on this sticky issue. Btw, James White will surprisingly debate Crossan-Borg in a tag team challenge on board a cruise ship soon. Reminds me of Chow Yuen Fatt's ploy in "God of Gambler" movie, no law in international waters so perfect for getting rid of pesky opponents.
If 'Heaven is so real' is not your cup of tea, maybe you should try something more challenging in "the new perspective on Paul." Having said that, I find some of my Reformed friends a bit too hasty in their dismissal of NPP. There's a lot of good stuffs in there, asI mentioned here
Attended a church in Kuching which does not have any musical instruments because they are keen not to 'add' any extrabiblical elements in their worship. But John Frame shows how the organ or guitar in your church is within the 'regulative principle' (No wonder we charismatics luv him!)
