Mark of a Christian

Had a great Agora session discussing the issue of evangelical involvement in social concerns, social action and politics in Malaysian context on Labor's Day.

Though we're slightly disappointed with turnout from CDPC members, the encouragement from a group of keen youngsters more than uplifted our spirits. One of them got to know about the event via CDPC website and bravely stepped into church alone.

At times, there's a note of resignation and pessimism abt the Msian church. So much so that a sister find avenues to serve in political parties instead.

But Meng Wai was right that our mission should not let verbal proclamation have a life of its own apart from the demonstration of the gospel in helping the poor and weak.

The Mark of a Christian, the latest edition of Christian CounterCulture, carries interesting articles on love as the final apologetics, postmodernism & the Ecumenical Imperative, life is meant to be lived in the gutters, etc.

Check it out!

It's been a year since The Confessions of a Hedonese started... Wow, how time flies!

Religion, the fear of God, must therefore be the element which inspires and animates all theological investigation. That must be the pulsebeat of the science. A theologian is a person who makes bold to speak about God because he speaks out of God and through God. To profess theology is to do holy work. It is a priestly ministration in the house of the Lord. It is itself a service of worship, a consecration of mind and heart to the honour of His name." - Herman Bavinck (1854-1921)
