Public Lectures jointly sponsored by Kairos & GCF...
Christian Entrepreneurship & Kingdom Witness
Time: 8.30pm -10.00pm
Date: 1 & 2 December 2005
Venue: St. Paul's Church, Petaling Jaya
Topic: Creative and Christian: Who Wouldn't Want Such a Business?
Christians can be the most creative people on earth. Being in relation with the
ongoing creativity of God makes innovation and implementation a constant inspiration. Traditionally, Christians have thought of this primarily in terms of stated Christian ministry in the church and mission enterprises in the world. But it also includes the creation and development of new products and services in the many ways we love our neighbour through our work. But implicit in this is the question of what makes a business truly Christian-a subject which will be explored and illustrated in the lecture.

Topic: Kingdom Come & Coming: Good News Indeed But What Kind of Spirituality Does This Call For?
Kingdom work and kingdom witness are wholistic-enhancing human life, bringing justice and leading people into relationship with God. In this lecture, we explore the nature and practice of witness in the context of workplace, and the spirituality that both nurtures creative mission and arises from the discipline of work itself. Work is not an encumbrance to the spiritual life but a pathway. There are struggles, resources and disciplines for marketplace spirituality."
About the speaker
Dr. R. Paul Stevens has been a pastor for 20 years (Montreal and Vancouver), a student counsellor with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, a business person (Habitat Woodcraft) and a professor in an interdisciplinary theological college for the whole people of God, Professor of Marketplace Theology and Leadership at Regent College.
