Welcome Space Voyagers to Deeper Space! Have you been to Sunway Pyramid? Yes! Do you know where pyramids came from? Egypt! Yes, in Egypt we have lots and lots of pyramids
Let me tell you a story from the Bible... About 4000 years ago, God's people (Israel) live in the land of Egypt. An evil king they called Pharoah treated them badly like slaves. So one day, God chose a man named Moses to challenge the bad king: "Set my people free! Let my people go!" But Pharoah refused, "No I want to keep the slaves for myself... Hahahaha"
So God sent 10 unnatural disasters into Egypt but He protected His people. To help them escape God opened up the Red Sea so that they can cross over safely and when the Egyptian army chased after them from behind, God closed it back and destroyed the army.
To lead His people into the beautiful land of Canaan, they had to pass through a desert (Do you know what it looks like? Do you like to go there? It's hot, dry, nothing there but sand!) So they complained: "God why do you bring us to this desert? No aircon, so hot. No water, so thirsty. No food, so hungry. We die better la". They forgot how life was much worse when they were slaves in Egypt.
But God loves them and hear their cries. God is trustworthy, you don't need to complain. God is awesome you can count on Him. Do you know what God provided for them for breakfast? Bread from heaven called manna (white in color and tastes like wafer with honey. It's sweet...) In the evening God gave them bird meat for dinner.
In this story, we learn that God is awesome and we can trust Him to guide and satisfy our needs. When we eat our food, we say thank you God for giving us food.
But we eat to live, not live to eat. The purpose of life is not just to 'jalan-jalan cari makan". The meaning of life is also to get to know and love the awesome God himself.
And God came to planet earth as a human - Jesus. He says: "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry and he who believes in me will never be thirsty."
Only Jesus fills our deepest spiritual hunger and you can trust Him not only for physical needs but also for true spiritual bread for our souls.
