Kerjaya Pemain Bola Yang Melampau

I had a not-so-glorious football career back in primary and secondary school (pendidikan jasmani) Couldn't have scored more than 5 goals in total. But I was not a bad defender, actually... managed to check many over-confident strikers in their stride.

One fine day, I didn't know wat 'anointing' fell on me. It was a day I can't forget for I scored two goals and set up another one... almost single-handedly won the match. heheh... The feat was even more remarkable since we used 'hockey' goals. And I curved the ball into goal before a goal-keeper who was large enuff to cover half the goalmouth by just standing still!

A spark of interest for football lit when I was in primary school and at the very same hour, I enthusiastically headed to the field and to the very first football I came across, gave an almighty kick, being convinced in my mind at that moment that football might be just the game for me. But I missed the ball and my size 2 school shoes flew off my feet, causing the people around me to laugh and that from that day onwards any interest in football was quenched. Even till today, when I see a football game going on, that memory sometimes creep in and I have to shudder and look away.

heheh.. Started to pant heavily after running on the field for 15 minutes the last time I played football, (time to retire!)

Futsal seems to be better for health! Will try!

The second most memorable moment in my football career was another day when I got hit square in the chest by a monstrous, close range volley. (Think Shaolin soccer)

I recovered... heard a faint shout from the back... turn around, just in time to catch a glimpse of another long-range volley in the sky... landing on my face

Blacked out for a second. I was substituted. heheh!

I was dreaming of a football career as a kid, and gave up after a few debut games in school where I did so badly that I was given that dreadful title "kaki bangku". From then on, I found myself doing badly at one sport after another, and spending time on the benches with the nerds that were always talking about the latest video game they played. I tried video games and did badly too, and it wasn’t until a few years back, when I discovered at a science fair that I had a eye-hand coordination disability. I now want to try and get a “awas pemandu cacat” sign for my car. :)

Ayoyo! The consolation is that you'd get a special parking lot when coming into CDPC...

I feel your pain of getting beaten by nerds at the bench, heheh...
