Marriage As Aporias

Got this SMS: "Hey dude! What does aporias mean? Can't find in dictionary"

Friend, you're in luck. I learn this word only last month or so from Kia Meng.

According to him, aporias is a Greek word that means 'paradox'. When the hero is at an impasse, a dilemma, point of indecision where the blessing he seeks is the curse!

Apparently, you can see aporias in movies of director Wong Kar Wai like "In the Mood for love".

To some people, marriage is a kind of 'aporias'. You finally get what you wanted but then there's a thrill you get from being 'in the hunt'. You are hunting to get the prize... but... the blessing is the curse! hahaha... Hope that helps!

Dave, marry a good wife like I did and marriage will be anything but an aporias. The word does sound like a shopping mall, and the only curse I can think of that comes to any man who loves a woman (married or not) is having her around as she looks at 30 different dresses before she buys one at the mall. But once we get married, we can actually stop following her shopping!
