Daniels Of The Year

Each year, World magazine selects a "Daniel of The Year" - a person who stood up under persecution or spiritual challenge.

And the Daniels of this year are.... Anglican Archbishops Peter Akinola and Henry Orombi of Uganda. The World goes on to list their credentials:

"Both men know physical persecution, having survived the brutal regime of Idi Amin, the Ugandan dictator who sent men to murder their friends and countrymen. These days, Akinola and Orombi face challenges from within their own denomination. Both men oppose the Episcopalian march toward ordination of homosexual clergy, a battle that is likely to split the denomination."
